It is with sadness that the passing of Drew Ella Chance (Hemphill, Texas) is shared. Drew, born on September 23, 1939, passed away on September 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Drew will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Drew by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Drew is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Drew’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Drew Davis Stewart and Lou Ella Pratt Stewart; and her brothers, Tommy Ray Stewart, Wayne D Stewart, Dale Stewart and Carl David Stewart.
She is survived by: her husband D. B. Chance of Hemphill; her children, Glen Chance (Nena) of Hemphill, Gayle Chance (Karen) of Hemphill and Cindy Richards (David) of Winnsboro, Texas.; and her sister Linda Conard of Hemphill. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Starr Funeral Home (510 Starr St, Hemphill, TX 75948). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Starr Funeral Home Chapel (510 Starr St, Hemphill, TX 75948).
