He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Emiline Kirk (Yates) and J. B. Kirk; and his daughter-in-law Tammy Medford Kirk. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Kirk; his children, Sandra Hollis (Danny) and John William "Bill" Kirk Jr. (Laurie); his brothers, Wayne Kirk (Cheryl) and Bob Kirk; and his grandchildren, Kevin Kirk (Julie), David Kirk (Heather), Justin Hollis (Jackie) and Ashley Byrd (Chris). He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
