He was predeceased by: his father Roy O'Mara; his stepfather Ken Blue; his grandparents, John, Ruth O'Mara, Ira and Florence Huffman; his cousin Wayne Melvin; and his close friend Rodger Boswell.

He is survived by: his mother Henrietta O'Mara Blue of Nebraska; his siblings, Connie DeGanahl (Chris) of Nebraska, Pat O'Mara (Pam) of Arizona and Randy O'Mara of Nebraska; his niece Megan Messersmith (Tyler) of Nebraska; his nephew Rory DeGanahl (Kelsey) of Nebraska; his daughters, Ashley Jordan (Taylor) of Overton, Leslie Norsworthy (Ronnie) of Daingerfield and Allison Russell (Zach) of College Station; and his grandchildren, Ashlyn, Austin, Aubrie, Brooklyn, Grayson and Emerson. He is also survived by six great nieces and nephews.
