With sadness, we share the passing of James Ray Smith of Hewitt, Texas. James Ray, born on June 17, 1943, passed away on September 5, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Smith and Billie Smith; and his sister Billie Jeanne Smith. He is survived by: his wife Linda Smith; his daughter Sheila Smith (Richard Munson); his sister Linda Beth (David Scales); and his siblings-in-law, Dr. Stanley (Ingrid Hayes), Glenn, Gaila Ely, David and Cheryl Ely. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
A graveside service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bellwood Memorial Park Cemetery (8575 Airport Rd, Temple, TX 76502).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to your favorite charity in the name of James Smith.
