He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther W. Cagle and Eula Cagle (Drake); and his siblings, Reavis Cagle, Mamie Charlene Williams, Wilma Lockhart and Douglas Cagle.

He is survived by: his children, Carol Lynn Helms (Ken) of Mesquite, Janice Gillaspie (Ricky) of Avalon, Patsy Ince (James "Bubba") of Whitney, James R. and Debbie Cagle of Woodbury; his sister Edith Rice of Fort Worth; his grandchildren, Jenny DeMarco (Ryan), Jason Helms (Jennifer), Rick Gillaspie, Chad Gillaspie, Amanda Vinson (Garret), Megan Amerson (Toby), Sicily Schlotter (Eric) and Eric Cagle (Brooke); his great grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, Christian, Emily, Elizabeth, Kayla, Landen, Ella, Greenlee and Cora; and his close friend Pam Vrba of West. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
