We announce the death of Anthony Joseph McGarvey Sr. (Houston, Texas), who passed away on September 19, 2026, at the age of 83. Anthony will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony McGarvey and Frances McGarvey (Fran); and his sister Kathleen Reames (Kay). He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo; his brothers, Dan McGarvey (Sheree) and John McGarvey (Mary Kay); his children, Anthony McGarvey (Andy), Matthew McGarvey (Matt) and Kelly Fleming; and his son-in-law Bill Fleming. He is also survived by four grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the American Heritage Funeral Home (10710 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038). A committal service was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM and from 12:45 PM to 1:30 PM at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038). A reception was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the American Heritage Funeral Home (10710 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038).
