We are sad to announce that on September 16, 2022, at the age of 86, Chester D. Smith of Houston, Texas, born in Corpus Christi, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Lee Watley Smith (Jones) and Sammie Smith; his stepfather Josiah Jones; his siblings, Charles Smith, Samuel Smith and ShirleyAnn Curry (Ernest) of Corpus Christi, TX.; and his brothers-in-law, Edwin Gooden of Houston and Nathaniel Wingate (Lourdes) of San Diego, CA..
He is survived by: his friend Charles Irvin; his wife Mary Otis Truscott Smith; his sister RoseMarie Taylor (Kenneth); his children, Eric Darnell Smith (Karen) and Ursula Lynnette Smith Lloyd (James); his grandchildren, Brandon Darnell Smith, Erica Alexis Smith, Jackson Alexandria Lloyd and SterlingDrake Austin Lloyd; and his friend Cora Jones. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
