He is survived by: his wife Beverly Franklin; his children, Dennis O'Neal Franklin Jr., Franchesska LaCour (Quentin), Nakita Ellis and Shane Ellis; and his sisters, Gwen Grason, Carolyn Hopes and Rena Franklin Sloan. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
