It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith Cheryl Slaughter of Houston, Texas, who passed away on January 6, 2026, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, Edith shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Edith farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lee Slaughter, Sr. and Elsie Dean Brown Slaughter (Leroy Gordan); and her siblings, Paul Lawrence Gordan and Vannessa Denise Slaughter. She is survived by: her siblings, Robert Lee Slaughter, Jr. and Rosalind Frug'e; her nephews, Vannie Emerson Slaughter (Sandra), Joseph James Slaughter and Jamil Slaughter; and her niece Ashley Gordon. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
