We announce the death of Eric L. Chimney (Houston, Texas), who passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 69. Eric will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Eric will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Eric’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parent Tennie Alberta Chimney (Criddle); and his brother Obidike Kamau. He is survived by: his parent Lacy Bernard Chimney; his wife Renee Chimney; his children, Jordan Chimney and Allison Scott; and his grandchildren, Emersyn, Kane and Aria Scott.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Second Baptist Church West Campus (19449 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77094).
