Gerald Thomas Hatten Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Thomas Hatten of Houston, Texas, who passed away on October 12, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George R. Hatten, Jr. and Dorothy Hatten (Coulter); and his sister Patricia Clebosky. He is survived by: his wife Rita Hatten (Austin); his daughters, Debbie McCaskill (Jim), Cheryl Grafe (Pat), Karen Owens (Kenny) and Theresa Grahmann (Alois); and his siblings, George R. Hatten, III (Joann) and Janet Smith (Alan). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Earthman Funeral Directors (8303 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77024). A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Church (7809 Shadyvilla Ln, Houston, TX 77055). A committal service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery (6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023). A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at the same location.

“To my dear sweet Rita and your beautiful family, I offer my heartfelt condolences and prayers for you and for one of the kindest men I’ve ever known. Ive loved him since I was just a little girl. All the cousins were so close and I have so many memories o being with all of you. If only everyone were as lucky as I am to have had you in my life.
