Though James may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Barnes, Sr. and Edna Thomas Barnes; his siblings, Wallace Barnes, Jr., Frank Barnes, Alice Barnes and Edna M. Barnes Hanchett; and his son-in-law Harlow LeBlanc.
He is survived by: his wife Yola Mae Brown Barnes; his daughters, Marzetta Fontenot LeBlanc and Lydia Barnes Wardell Lewis; and his grandchildren, Spenser James Wardell and Michael Oneal Lewis, II. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
