She was predeceased by: her parents, Derwood John McConnell and Mary Eleanor Rain McConnell; and her sisters, Lynda McConnell Moore and Karen Stephanie McConnell. She is survived by: her husband David Barrow Black, Sr.; her children, David Barrow Black, Jr. of Dallas and Mary Katherine Black Pattison (Patrick); her grandchildren, Andrew Duke Pattison of Dallas and Anne Campbell Pattison of Dallas; and her nephews, George Black III (Katherine Walters), Emmalee Black (Amy Dexter) and Wilson Moore.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at the Hankamer Chapel of Second Baptist Church (6400 Woodway Dr, Houston, TX 77057).
