He is survived by: his wife Hazel Fields Mitchell; his children, Johnnie Robinson (late Delbert), Frances Campbell-Hunt (David), Vernon Mitchell (Shelia), Carol Moncriffe (Miranda), James Chatman, Tari McQueen (LV, Jr.) and Michelle Mitchell; and his siblings, Abbie Carter, Cliff Mitchell, Sr. (Kathleen), Peter James Mitchell (late Marian), Joshua Mitchell, Sr. (Vergie) and Floyd Mitchell (late Lillie). He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives, friends and neighbors.
