It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jose Manuel Anaya Herrera (Houston, Texas), who passed away on February 24, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Santiago Anaya Ruiz and Aurora Herrera Garza; his brother Hector Anaya Herrera; and his wife Romelia Anaya Chapa. He is survived by: his children, Jose Manuel Anaya, Jr. (Perla), Fabian Anaya (Cynthia) and Monica Anaya Nero (Richard); his grandchildren, Ximena Ayari Anaya, Aaron Manuel Anaya, Isabel Marie Nero, Juliana Rose Nero, Mia Grace Nero, Jax Alejandro Anaya and Alessandra Lucia Anaya; and his siblings, Santiago Anaya Herrera, Derly Anaya Herrera, Aurora Garcia Anaya and Hilda Chapa Anaya. He is also survived by many extended family members and a host of dear friends.
