He was predeceased by: his parents, Fidencio Hernandez and Francisca Hernandez; his siblings, Jane Kalie (John), Yolanda Mottu and Basilio Hernandez; and his brothers-in-law, Pete Martinez and Valentino Costello.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores; his daughters, Valerie Mapula (George), Vanessa Hernandez (Derrick), Cynthia Ramirez (Frank), Vivian Hernandez and Jillian Jo Hernandez; his siblings, Fidencio G. Hernandez Jr. (Mary), Albert Hernandez (Laura), Lupe Costello, Beatrice Ornelas (Rick) and Hilaria Martinez; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Mottu and Connie Hernandez. He is also survived by nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, extended family, friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Felix H. Morales Funeral Home - Central (2901 Canal St, Houston, TX 77003). A rosary was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (2405 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX 77003). A committal service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Brookside Cemetery (13747 Eastex Fwy, Houston, TX 77039). A reception was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Deputy Darren Almendarez Community Center (10918 Bentley St, Houston, TX 77093).
