He was predeceased by: his stepchild Kyron Jackson; his parents, Norman Onezine and Hazel Onezine; his brother Earl Ronald Rogers; and his siblings-in-law, Harold George Payne and Diane Banks.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Thomas; his children, Dr. Joan Cooper Rainey (Oscar), Norma Thomas, Julius Lucky, JD Lucky and Jellisa Thomas; his stepchildren, Keith Johnson, Jr. (Christine), Ariane Thipado (Charles) and Ashley Jackson (Kevin); his grandson Landon Jackson; his sister Joan Marie Payne; and his brothers-in-law, Timmy Jackson (Terri), Tyrone Jackson (Harolyn) and Donald Jackson (Lisa). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church (1242 Vallette St, New Orleans, LA 70114). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Greater Morning Star Baptist Church (1242 Vallette St, New Orleans, LA 70114). FACE MASKS ARE RECOMMENDED.
