He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Joseph and Josephine Ignas (Strzalka); his stepmother Helen Ignas (Pozdol); and his siblings, John (Eva), Robert (Florence), Richard, Raymond (Rose), Frank (Patricia), Irene Urbanczyk (Joseph), Lillian Dalhstrom (Joseph) and Karoline Florence "Carolyn" Coursolle (Ernest).

He is survived by: his wife Theresa Palermo-Ignas; and his brother Larry Ignas (Zhelah Kayce). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
