“Knowing, working and having Mont in my life was nothing less than life changing. A boss, leader, mentor and friend. He was bold, firm, personable, giving, caring and kind. He had more trust and confidence in me at times than I did myself. He pushed me, drove me and empowered me to be more than I was. He had a significant impact on me professionally and personally. He was great friend to my family and will be deeply missed but never forgotten. We will miss you Mont!”

Taylor Truitt lit a candle

“Mont Phelps was a man who forever changed me and my life. He was kind, caring for everyone, and always had a capacity to “Get to know Each One” including the spouses and families of his employees. I worked for Mont for many years, and I can only dream of being half the man he was. He was loyal, respectable, never taking no for an answer, but carefully assessing every outcome with others in mind. I will always remember this man, and the lessons he taught so well. Much Love, Taylor Truitt”

“Mont was a mentor to me in ways I can’t express. He befriended me the first time I met him and was always there when I needed him. My office was right next door to his in the Houston office and we spent countless hours talking and of course the legendary Mont stories. The culture that Mont and Jane created is something we have all been seeking the rest of our careers. My thoughts are with Jane, Drew, Allison and all the extended family. I feel truly blessed to have known Mont and each of you.”
