He was predeceased by: his parents, Atilano Serna and Cecilia Serna; and his brothers, Jacinto, Héctor Serna and Omar Serna.
He is survived by: his wife Hilaria Elizondo Serna; his children, Norma (Jose Gonzalez), Patricia (Herwing Morin), Leticia (Jose Martinez) and Omar (Elizabeth Serna); his grandchildren, Alex, Andy and Rebecca Gonzalez; and his children, Beatriz, Oscar Serna (Mirthala Serna), Diego, Marcelo Morin, Daniela, Julian, Andrea Martinez, Nicholas, Nataniel and Noah Serna.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Blackwell & Vazquez Funeral Home (750 Uvalde Rd, Houston, TX 77015). A rosary was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A prayer was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery (6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023).
