He was predeceased by: his parents, Caroline Compton and Robert Brodnax Matthews Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Felicia A. De La Cruz; his son Will Matthews (Yu) of Japan; his brother Pearson Matthews (Ann) of Homewood; and his godson Zachary Kovar of Pearland, Texas.. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM and at 2:00 PM at the Integrity Funeral Care (3915 Dacoma St, Houston, TX 77092).
