He was predeceased by: his parents, Eunice and James Milton; and his sister Gay Nell Clossin. He is survived by: his significant other Esther; his children, Elizabeth Ann Carnes (Cameron) and Robert Mitchell II (Toni); his grandchildren, Emmett Mitchell (Carnes), Lorelai Elizabeth (Carnes), Charlotte Lynn (Carnes), Evelyn Claire Carrigan, Darcy June (Carnes) and Lucy Elizabeth Carrigan; his siblings, Elois Kraatz (Don) of Victoria, Emmie Sue of Round Rock, Rebecca Carruthers (Justin) of Huntsville, Ben (Nicole) of Centerville and Jim (Emma) of Centerville; and his siblings-in-law, Lawrence Herrmann and Lois Schalk of Buffalo, NY. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
After struggling for many years with immunological diseases, his weakened immune-compromised body could not win his battle against complications from COVID.
