He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Symon and Elizabeth Symon. He is survived by: his wife Langston; his brother Goodall; his children, Elizabeth Richardson (Paul), Jennifer Nettles (Larry) and Robert B, Jr. (Cassie); and his grandchildren, Christy Riley (Nick), Tommy Richardson (Jessica), Matt Richardson (Presley), Caroline Kennedy (Michael), Kim Nettles, Jamie Nettles (Ashley) and Lilly Allemond (Eli). He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church (11612 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77024). Even after 5 weeks in the hospital with Covid at the age of 94, he pressed on as a member of the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church Choir and the Buckingham Singers.
