John Salanitro wrote a sympathy message

“I was fortunate to know Steve since our grade school days at Christ the King and then throughout our time at Prep. He was always someone who was a genuine good person. I admired and respected him so much. I didn't see him much after high school but so much loved catching up with him on the rare occasions when our paths would cross. I did have an opportunity to exchange emails with him after finding out about his health, and the spirit and faith that he included in his messages strengthened my already strong admiration for him. My sincere condolences to all of the Sulentic family and friends. My prayers are with you.”

James E. Quinlan wrote a sympathy message

“I am very saddened to hear of your loss. Steve was a classmate of mine at Creighton Prep and even back to Christ The King elementary school. I always had the deepest respect for his intellect and good nature. He was a good man and I am certain a great husband and father. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
