He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Lee Montgomery and Estaleene Warren Montgomery; his grandson Jimmy Lee Rye; and his great grandchild Tracen Rye. He is survived by: his wife Marylon Montgomery; his daughter Sheila Barber; his grandchildren, Michael Shockley (Haylie), Rodney Kinard, Shawn Rye (Amber), Richard Rye (Lita) and Sharon Rankin; his great grandchildren, Harper Shockley, Paryse Shockley, Zachary Kinard, Macey Kinard, Jovie Rye, Dax Rye, LaKen Rye, Sophia Rye, Hunter Rankin, Jayce Rankin and Lexi Rankin; and his siblings, Karen Hughes and Kent Rice. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home - BIG Spring (906 S Gregg St, Big Spring, TX 79720). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel (906 S Gregg St, Big Spring, TX 79720). A burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the Trinity Memorial Park (6900 US-87, Big Spring, TX 79720).
