She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Johnson and Blanche Johnson of Laneville, Texas; her husband William Ray "Bill" Whitten; her son Ricky Whitten of Hubbard, Texas; and her siblings, Dorothy Young, Pat Edwards, Bane Johnson and Samuel Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Neal Whitten (Lynnette) of Morton and Melodie Lockeridge (Ricky) of Henderson, Texas; her sisters, Joan Landt and Barbara Scoggins; and her close friend Janice Hodges. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many "grandchildren in love".
