It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Ewing Merritt of Hubbard, Texas, born in Prescott, Arizona, who passed away on August 25, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, James Albert Merritt and Georgia Leo Merritt (Gorrell); and his brothers, J. C. Harding Merritt, George Robert Wendell Merritt, Billy Wayne Merritt and Frank Albert Merritt.

He is survived by : his children, Billy "Bear" Merritt (Jo Ann) of Lewisville, James Merritt (Debbie) of Conway, Arkansas, Rhonda Stanley (Curtis) of Channelview, LaDonna Johnson (Jerry) of Hubbard and Pamela Moore (John) of Shady Shores. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
