He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester B. Slaughter and Jewel Paxton Slaughter; and his siblings, Chester B. Slaughter II, David Paxton Slaughter, Irby Earl Slaughter and Wilda June Slaughter Glover.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Haley Slaughter (Teeny); his sister Marilyn Slaughter Burney; and his children, Mary Beth Slaughter O'Hanlon (Kerry), Thomas Wayne Slaughter (Judy), Susan Slaughter Schultz (Steve), Carrie Slaughter De Leon and John Irby Slaughter (Amy). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
