Hazel Morehead Obituary
We bid farewell to Hazel Morehead of Huntington, Texas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 15, 2025 at the age of 85. Hazel touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Vestal and Hazel Quarles (Cooper); her husband W. J. Morehead; her son Christopher "Pete" Morehead; her brothers, L. B. Vestal and Bobby Vestal; and her siblings-in-law, Lonnie, Genese Vestal, Prentis, Oleta Morehead, Henry, Janet Morehead, Travis "Boots", Jackie Morehead, Horace, Myrl McCoy, Wadus "Tot" Morehead, Verble Morehead, LaMorris Morehead, John Pollino, George Bentley and Phynice Fuller.
She is survived by: her daughters, Tina (Robert "Bob" Brockett), Lesia (Randal Rich) and Carrie Morehead (James Coody); her grandchildren, Leslie (Jon Davis) of Huntington, Monica (Billy Arnold) of Nacogdoches, Bryan (Caressa Golden) of Conroe, Rebekah (Philip Frankens) of Huntington, Heather (Paul Johnson) of Huntington, Calen (Kaytlyn Morehead) of Huntington and Halee (Brandon Elliot) of Richmond; her siblings, Kathryn Bentley and Don; and her sisters-in-law, Linda Vestal, Faye Pollino, Maxine Morehead and Dell Morehead. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carroway Funeral Home (2704 S John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church (1407 Ellis Ave, Lufkin, TX 75904).
