She was predeceased by : her father Theodore Chatman; and her sister Pearl Chatman. She is survived by : her mother Ruth Chatman; her children, Donovan, Alicia and Alaina Payne; her granddaughter Celine Payne; her stepfather Johnnie Lee Brown; and her siblings, Regina O'Hara (Minister William O'Hara), Earl Chatman Sr. Reginald Chatman (Sheila), Wesley Vincent Chatman, Ted Chatman and George Benjamin Sr.. She is also survived by friends, aunt, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
