He was predeceased by: his mother Carolyn Smith; his father-in-law Morris; and his brother-in-law Brad Shaffer. He is survived by: his father Brooks Smith; his wife Angie Smith of Hurst, TX; his daughters, Amanda (Tommy Scruggs) and Amber (Bryce Gibson); his grandsons, Nathan and Silas Gibson; his brothers, John Smith and Russell; his sister-in-law Tonya Smith; his mother-in-law Diane Shaffer; his siblings' children, Chris Smith, Kimberly Tritten and Cameron Shaffer; Carolyn Smith.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lucas Funeral Home Chapel (1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX 76053). A reception will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lucas Funeral Home (1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX 76053).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Brain Tumor Association.
