He is survived by: his children, Donald Heyden, Jr. (Vicki), Julie Mead (Joe) and Cindy Barber (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Heather Laye, Hannah Laye, Preston Laye (Ciarra), Hayden Barber (Carlee) and Harrison Barber (Grace); and his great grandchildren, Madison Issacs, Cage Issacs, Brayden Steele, Waylon Laye and Stetson Laye.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Good Shepard Lutheran Church (2620 W Grauwyler Rd, Irving, TX 75061). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Good Shephard Lutheran Church (2620 W Grauwyler Rd, Irving, TX 75061). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211).
