He was predeceased by: his parents, Alan Johnstone (Dorothy "Dot" Larmour) and Gertrude "Betty" Beard Johnstone; his daughter Becky Johnstone; his sister Susan Johnstone Jamison; and his stepmother Dorothy Johnstone.
He is survived by: his wife Carrye Johnstone; his stepdaughter Marie Hollwedel; his sisters, Margaret Kreutzkampf and Judith Aunger; and his nieces and nephews, Russell Aunger (Amy), Irene Smith (Brian), Brent Jamison (Stephanie) and Jay Jamison (Repsie).
