He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bunion and Vada Ann Comer (Jones); his sons, James Melvin Comer and Adam Lee Comer; and his siblings, Dorothy Ann Hestand and Hollis Comer.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita Eailene Comer (Keller); his children, John Richard Comer, David Alan Comer, Corliss (Dick Morin), Melissa Olivas, Paul Darwood Comer (Jenny), Andrew Thomas Comer (Mandy), Jennifer Ann (Bobby Leach), Johnnie James Comer and Alexandra Marie Comer; his sister Elizabeth Ann Upchurch; and his sister-in-law Sue Comer. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
