She was predeceased by: her parents, Jasper Gunter and Debbie Gunter; her former husband Howard Hodge, Jr.; and her siblings, Harvey, Rayburn, Fred, Jasper, Wesley, Pauline, Maybelle, Jewel, Essie and Hattie.
She is survived by: her husband Sam Hale; her children, Steve Hodge (Linda) of Emory, Jeff Hodge (Lea Ann) of Savoy and Sharon Carroll (Shawn) of Howe; her grandchildren, Brody Hodge (Kristi), Brice Hodge, Brock Hodge and Sloane Carroll; her sisters-in-law, Anna Gunter and Ella Kay Beal; her grandsons, Taylor Hodge and Stratton Carroll; her friend Wade Sessom; and her niece Brenda Thornhill Bell. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home (201 W Maple St, Whitewright, TX 75491). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (201 W Walnut St, Whitewright, TX 75491).
