He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Barr and Faye Barr (DuBose). He is survived by: his wife Margie Barr of Jacksonville; his daughters, Pamela Melton (Marvin) of Tyler and Paula Juranek (Thomas) of Conroe; his siblings-in-law, Douglas Lee (Anita) of Conroe and Virginia Barr of Kemah; and his granddaughters, Sara Melton, Kara Melton and Blanca Gutierrez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
