He was predeceased by: his parents, James McKinley and Kathleen Marie Benge (Cahill); his brother James Joseph Benge; his wife Margie Faye Crippins Benge; and his son James Allen Benge.
He is survived by: his children, Jill Benge of Houston, John Wesley Benge of Dallas and Jay Donald Benge (Tracy) of Dallas; and his grandchildren, Whitney, Christopher, LeighAaron, Chance, Wesley, Candice, Matthew, Victoria, Brittany, Colton and Jenay. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
