He was predeceased by: his father John Hugh; his wife Marilyn Hildegard Garrard Hooker (Garrard); and his mother Elsie Lavina Mitchell Hooker (Mitchell). He is survived by: his children, Karen Hooker, Kelley Hooker (Wendy), Kristi Summerlin (Newell), Helene Cortinas (Nicholas), John Hooker (Kristin) and Samuel Hooker (Rachel); and his grandchildren, Jennifer Redding, John Andrew McAlexander, Lacey Lyons, Matthew Standley, Tres Summerlin, Sadie Hilliard, Lexie Hoffman, Zander Cortinas, Brennen Cortinas, Kayla Hooker, Carson Hooker, Anneliese Hooker, Ethan Hooker, Samuel Hooker, Bethanie Hooker, Jordan Hooker, Jase Vivona, Rawley Hooker and RuthAnn Hooker. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests donations be made in Darvin's memory to Hospice of East Texas, Whitehouse Methodist Church, First Methodist Church in Jacksonville, or the Whitehouse Food Pantry.
