He was predeceased by: his parents, George Dewey and Lula Belle Hooper Caveness; his sister Marilyn Powers; and his brothers-in-law, Perry Etheridge and Jimmy Strickland.
He is survived by: his wife Carole Rayborn Caveness; his daughter Bindi Caveness; his sisters, Dorothy Etheridge of Caryville, Ann Garner (Mike) of Trinity, Nan Salby (Wes) of Spring, Betty Gilbreath (Jim) of Cypress and Violet Davis (John) of Jacksonville, Florida.; his sisters-in-law, Belva Strickland of Centerville, Hilda Ellzey (Lane) of Rusk and Alice Sumrall (Joe) of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Johnna Anderson, Dawn Bauer, Sheron Darragh and Patti White; and his caregiver Cortney Holman.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Autry Funeral Home - Jacksonville (1025 E Loop 456, Jacksonville, TX 75766). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
