She was predeceased by: her parents, Graves Watson and Myrtle Watson; her husband Sherwood Smith; and her brothers, Marlon and LaVon Watson.
She is survived by: her children, David Smith (Charla) of Athens and Joyce Hammonds (Thomas) of Dallas; and her grandchildren, Mikah Smith, Lance Smith, Michael Gunn and Mechelle Johnson. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
