She was predeceased by : her parents, Morris Covington and Kate Covington; and her husband James Smith. She is survived by : her sons, Phil Smith (Nancy) of Bullard and Mike Smith (Cyndi) of Flint; her grandsons, Eric Smith (Christina), Spencer Smith (Holly Moore), Preston Smith (Sarah) and Mason Smith; and her great grandchildren, Wesley, Jamison and Rylee Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Open Door Class of First Baptist Church Whitehouse or to Hospice of East Texas.
