We announce the death of Martha A. (Peterson) Rice of Jacksonville, Texas, born in Valley City, North Dakota, who passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 93. Martha will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Martha will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Martha’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Peterson and Helen Peterson (Benson); her husband Norman M. Rice; and her siblings, Marise Thorstad, Don and David Peterson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Glenda Rice of Jacksonville, Debra Rice Miles of Troup, Patricia Rice Ebanez of Rusk and Tammy Warren (Norman) of Troup. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Tecula Cemetery.
