He is survived by: his wife Retha Yates; his children, Shane Yates (Stephanie) of Gallatin, Jonathan Yates (Raylene) of Noonday and Renee Gardner (Clint) of Bullard; his siblings, Toni Dumas (James) of Louisiana and Johnny Yates of Noonday; his grandchildren, Dustin Yates, Cody Yates, Collin Chandler, Kayley Stroupe (Mack), C. J. Gardner (Maryssa) and J. P. Gardner; and his great grandchildren, Aiden, Aubrey, Rory and Scottie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
