He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Simmons (Christina) of Newton and Paul Edward Simmons of Longview, Texas; his siblings, Barney Ray Simmons of Newton, Texas, Barbara Sue Heckel of Indiana, Rita Hester of Indiana, Janie Simmons of North Carolina, Millie Ruiz of North Carolina and Lethie Mae Simmons of Indiana; and his grandson Samuel Wyatt Simmons.
