She was predeceased by: her parents, Allie White and Fletcher White; her husband Vander Carter, Sr.; her son Jesse Ordale Carter; her siblings, Hubert White, Charles White, Doris White Huley, Ardella White Paul, Helen Rose White Brooks and Mildred White Hicks; and her daughter-in-law Janice Carter.
She is survived by: her sons, Vander L. Carter, Jr. and Christopher Carter (Shelia); her stepdaughter Dorothy Fowler; her grandchildren, Devonta Carter, Dominic Carter, Essence Seale and Jerome Harris; her great grandchildren, Tristen Harris and Jeremiah Harris; her godchildren, Mervin L. Cleveland, Jr., LaShondra Holmes, Whitney Holmes, Christian Holmes, Kelley Haynes Mendez and Leigh Haynes; and her siblings-in-law, Kathy Greer (Kennedy), La Vern Carter (L. J. Carter), Wanda Verette Carter (Clen), Oliver Crumedy (Sadie) and James Carter (Shelia). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
