She was predeceased by: her parents, Abner Jefferson Alford and Jewel Wheeler Alford; her husbands, William Simmons and Clyde Blanchard; her children, William Donald Simmons and Genie Howard; her grandson Jeff Howard; and her brothers, Pete Alford and AJ Alford.

She is survived by: her son Mack Simmons (Kay) of Bon Wier, Texas; and her grandchildren, Shanna Gregor (Blaine), Thomas Howard (Kristie), Shanae Simmons, Jill Simmons, Amie Foreman (Ryan) and Lance Simmons (Heather). She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
