It is with sadness that the passing of Frances Petty Chalmers (Jasper, Texas) is shared. Frances, born on October 23, 1952 in Trinity, Texas, passed away on September 29, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Joel Chalmers; her parents, William G. Petty Jr. and Mary Thomas Petty; and her sister Billie Kay Petty. She is survived by: her children, Jason Chalmers (Kelly) of Plano, Jeremy Chalmers of Dallas and Jennifer Bayes (Eric) of Fulshear; her sister Mary Ann Morgan of Mont Belvieu; her brother-in-law David Chalmers (Jeri) of Houston; her grandchildren, Jody, Taylor, Alexa of Plano, Wesley, Lukas and William of Fulshear; her nephews, Jim Morgan (Ashley) of Georgetown and Andy Morgan (Wendy) of Mont Belvieu; Mont Belvieu. She is also survived by godchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home (2577 N Wheeler St, Jasper, TX 75951). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Stinger & Griffin Funeral Home (2577 N Wheeler St, Jasper, TX 75951). A reception will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 2:15 PM at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home (2577 N Wheeler St, Jasper, TX 75951). A burial will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at the Jasper City Cemetery (1000 N Bowie St, Jasper, TX 75951).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Fran's name to one of her favorite charities: City House Plano and Hope's Door New Beginning Center in Plano.
