Emmitt Earl Shelton, 64, of Jefferson, TX passed away Friday, March 2, 2012. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Philadelphia Cemetery in Goodwater, Oklahoma. There will be a time of visitation on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian, LA from 6-8 pm. Emmitt was born October 4, 1947 in Goodwater, OK to Clarence and Myrtle Shelton and has lived in Jefferson, TX area for the past 30 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He served his country in Vietnam in the US Army where he earned the Bronze Star, Silver Star and a Purple Heart. He loved living on the Lake o the Pines and fishing. He loved playing his guitar and singing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Clifford Shelton, and his sisters, Inez Brumfield, Della Hill and Betty Watson. He is survived by his wife, Linda Ann Shelton of Jefferson, TX, his sons, Travis Earl Shelton of Gilmer, TX and Darrell Allen Shelton, his brothers and sisters; Evelean Davis of Redland, OK, Vernon Shelton and wife Top of Eagletown, OK, Oiln Shelton and wife Jimmie Ann of Haworth, OK, Shirley Davis and husband Cy of Eagletown, OK, Charles Shelton and wife Barbara of Haworth, OK, Roger Shelton and wife Judy of Haworth, OK, and Larry Shelton and wife Linda of Mineola, TX, special friends Leslie, Betty Gregory, and Jena Silva and several nieces and nephews.
