She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas W. Thompson and Willie Mae Thompson; her husbands, Michael Starkey and Charles Gilbert; and her sister Virginia Mallet.
She is survived by: her siblings, Bonnie Lynn Blalock, James R. Thompson and Charles R. Thompson (Sandra E. Thompson); and her brother-in-law Robert Mallet. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home (203 E Clarksville St, Jefferson, TX 75657). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at the Prospect Cemetery (210 E Prospect Rd, Jefferson, TX 75657).
