He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph McDonald and Ruby Woolsey McDonald; and his siblings, Ann Lampley, Joe Paul McDonald, Alvin McDonald and Doug McDonald.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Hilliard McDonald; his children, Cynthia Kline, Mary Hilliard, Damian McDoanld, Daniel McDonald, Heather Hilliard Gardner and Jason Hilliard; his grandchildren, Anthony McDonald, Alexis McDonald, Catherine McDonald, Ryan McDonald, Sierra McDonald, Jackson McDonald, Kendyl Kline, Bryelle Kline, Hynlee Kline, Emma Dunn, Hadley Gardner, Wren Gardner, Hunter Hilliard and Sage Hilliard; and his brothers, Calvin McDonald (Tammy) and James McDonald. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Watson & Sons Funeral Home (1554 TX-7, Center, TX 75935). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Cassel Cemetery.
